Hi, Friends! I hope your week is off to a great start! I’m excited about today’s post because I’ve never really done a fashion post with my outfit of the day! To be honest, I’ve wanted to start sharing a few outfits here and there but the struggle has been real trying to shoot the outfits. Usually, I feel incredibly uncomfortable when trying to take these fashion shots that I never end up liking the pictures and scrap the entire idea. I really don’t know how fashion bloggers do it….they must just get used to it and it becomes easier the more often you do it.
But alas, I finally have an outfit shoot that I’m excited to share and that came about by accident when we were in Santa Barbara! My go-to summer look this year has been an easy summer dress and then more dresses. Long, short, and mid-length….I love them all! Living in the Bay Area I usually need a sweater or jacket to throw over my shoulders because it can be chilly throughout the day. My go-to jacket lately has been a variation of denim jackets; I have a white, light distressed denim, and a darker one that all pair perfectly with the dresses I have.
My favorite thing about wearing a summer dress is that it’s so easy to look cute and pulled together with super minimal effort. When all is said and done, the outfit is only one to three pieces (depending if you need a jacket or not). Throw a necklace, bracelet and cute pair of shoes on and you’re golden. I usually wear this look with the cutest brown espadrilles wedges but since these pictures were taken on the beach no shoes was completely okay. These are the wedges that I usually wear but unfortunately the quality of them is just crap. They are about to fall apart so now I’m on a mission to find something similar but with better quality. I’m hoping the Nordstrom sale with yield some good options!
This is why I am a terrible fashion blogger…I’m not quick enough to get a look up before pieces of it sell out. This exact dress isn’t available at Old Navy any more but I did link the solid black one that is the same style and then different style dresses in the same pattern. The short version of this pattern is so cute!
Do you have an easy go-to summer look that you love and will have on repeat all season?!
