Super Bowl Sunday Queso Recipe

Super Bowl Sunday Queso Recipe

If you live in the Bay Area then you have probably been to Tacolicous at least once or twice, or have at least heard about it. One thing everyone should know about me, I LOVE TACOLICOUS! You can imagine my excitement when my friend got me the Tacolicous cookbook for Christmas! I instantly flipped through the book to see if my two favorite recipes where included, the queso and carnitas. Cue the happy dance, because they are definitely in the book. Ryan and I have been making a recipe or two the last few weekends and I’ve gotten a lot of questions about the queso recipe from InstaStories. Y’all also voted that you wanted it for Super Bowl Sunday so I wanted to make sure I delivered the “goods.” I hope you all enjoy this Super Bowl Sunday Queso Recipe from Tacolicous as much as I do.

Super Bowl Sunday Queso Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1/2 yellow onion, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 pound Velveeta cheese, cut into 2-inch cubes
  • 1 (7oz) can Ortega brand diced green chiles, drained
  • 3/4 cup diced canned tomatoes with juice
  • 1/4 cup drained canned or jarred sliced pickled jalapeño chilies
  • Tortilla chips, for dipping
  • **Pizante added optional ingredient–chili powder to taste, we add this and love it

Directions:

  • Combine the oil, onion, and garlic in a saucepan over medium heat and cook until the onion is translucent, about 5 minutes
  • Add the cheese and stir frequently until melted
  • Add the green chilies, tomatoes, and pickled jalapeños and stir until heated through
  • Transer to a serving bowl and serve warm with tortilla chips for dipping

Now that all my Christmas decor is finally down 🤣 I have the urge to freshen things up around the house to kick off the New Year! I started with the base layer of our bedding, the sheets. These sheets from @cariloha are so unbelievably soft and smooth! Just like my favorite towels, these are also made out of the viscose from bamboo. If you’re looking to freshen up your home too or just want new sheets (or towels) I have a 20% off code for you: AMBERP20. #cariloha #sponsored
