Welcome to our bedroom tour, come on in and make yourself cozy!
Our bedroom was a work in progress when we first moved into our apartment almost two years ago. It’s on the small side, like 120sqft small. When we moved in we thought for sure the room would only fit a queen bed and some night stands. For a month we tried to make a queen bed work but with two humans and a frenchie who sleeps like a human we all were exhausted. We ditched the queen bed and decided that we’d make a king bed work even if it took up the entire room. Much to our surprise we had plenty of room for the king bed, large bed frame, two night stands, and eventually a full size dresser.
There was definetely some hesitation when it came to purchasing the dresser. My thought was that there would for sure be no room, but we REALLY needed more storage. I thought about purchasing these Hemnes shoe cabinets from IKEA since they are narrow but ultimately decided they wouldn’t be enough storage. I love having a dresser and desperately wanted one, so I went for it. While our room is small there still seems to be plenty of room to walk on both sides of the bed and in between the dresser and bed. You won’t find me complaining about the lack of space because so many friends who live in a similar size apartment can’t fit this much in their rooms! The room also feels larger because our closet doors are full size mirrors and then I added mirrors above the night stand to help give the illusion that the room is bigger than it is.
This Hemnes IKEA dresser is such a good bang for your buck, it has so much storage and you can’t beat the $250 price point. I decided to swap out the knobs it came with for the brass pulls and love how it looks a little more custom. Almost every piece of furniture in this apartment has some sort of storage function to it and the bedroom is no exception. Even that cute little ottoman has a ton of storage.
Thanks for touring our bedroom and for letting us welcome you into another room of our home! I tried to link as many items as I could above but a lot of the items are no longer available since I purchased everything almost two years ago. Some of it is still available and for the items that aren’t, I liked similar ones. If you have specific questions on where something is from in our bedroom that’s not linked, just comment below and I’ll let you know!
