Ahhhh, the Saturday morning of a 3-day weekend, isn’t it just the best feeling?! We still have 2 more lazy mornings!! The typical Bay Area Indian Summers are in FULL effect this weekend. It’s actually pretty miserable since most places don’t have central AC and the temperatures are one for the record books. Yesterday the temperatures in Oakland reached above 100 (according to the temperature gauge in my car). At one point I was literally working in my car with Lily in tow so we could cool off in the AC. Would that be classified as #firstworldproblems?? Probably! So we packed our duffle bags and are headed out to our parents house where there is central AC and a swimming pool with pineapple and flamingo floats.
The other day I polled Insta Stories asking whether y’all would love to see my favorite sangria or frosé recipe and the vote was froze. So ask and you shall receive! I can’t say I’m surprised because frosé still seems to be the hot recipe of the summer. This particular recipe was adapted from the Hotel San Jose in Austin. This drink was by far my favorite during our trip (Austin guide coming soon!) Ryan sweet talked the bartender into giving us the ingredients because I loved it that much! Isn’t he sweet as a peach?! The consistency of the one I made is a little different since we did’t use the margarita type machine but the taste is so similar and so good!
Ingredients:
- Bottle of rosé
- Frozen lemonade (you know the old school kind in a can from the freezer section) make sure to use it frozen.
- 1/3 cup simple syrup
- Juice of 1/2 a lemon
- Ice (I did 3 handfuls of the ice you buy in the bag at the grocery store)
- Mint to Garnish
Instructions:
- Blend all ingredients together in a blender
- Freeze for a few hours
This drink does melt pretty quickly but even when it melts it’s still delicious, you could just add ice cubes. I hope you all stay cool this weekend.
Happy sipping!
