Office Design Inspiration

A Married Adventure Blog: Office Design Inspiration: amberpizante.com
Let’s talk office design inspiration, shall we?! I can’t even begin to tell you all how long it took me to decide what to do with our office space, **ahem** corner in our living room. The struggle for space is real when you live in an urban city where rents are through the roof!  Our lovely little apartment is only 600sqft. Now, I know some of you are thinking holy guacamole that is small! It sounds small, but our layout and closet space happens to be super functional so it actually doesn’t feel as small as it sounds. We also have a killer balcony space with a view of Lake Merritt that makes only having 600sqft a little easier.

When we moved into this apartment we knew we needed to carve out a corner somewhere for a desk space. I have the ability to work from home and with my husband being in law school not having a desk was not an option. Because of our layout it was actually pretty easy to figure out where to put the desk. Let’s be real here, when you’re working with 600sqft you don’t really have a vast amount of options on where to put a desk. The challenge came when I tried to figure out how to incorporate the design of the desk area with the rest of our living room since that’s where the space is located. For months and months, just a white desk sat in the corner as I became less and less inspired to design the space.

When I decided to finally start the design process I stumbled upon this site called Havenly.  If you haven’t heard of them and need design help then I would definitely check them out. I decided to try the Havenly Mini package since my space was small and I primarily needed help with how to incorporate an office space within my living room. The entire process was great and left me with two design boards that I could shop through their site. Even though both the design boards were great, they just didn’t feel completely right for me and the space. This is such a typical Amber move,  I decide to get some help and then eventually end up doing it myself. Good grief I tell ya, this is something I do way too much!

I think the reason that Havenly may not have worked for me is because I like to think I have a good eye for design on my own. Oh, and maybe the fact that I’m terribly picky and like to control things myself. I still totally recommend trying it out if you need design help! These are the two boards below that I got back from the Havenly designer.

After deciding that I wasn’t completely in love with either of the design boards I ended up designing the space myself.  I kept the white campaign desk and grey chair that I already owned. I then picked a few pieces that I did like from the boards and incorporated my own touches. You can see my design board that I created for the space below.   For now, I will leave you with the inspiration board I created and worked off of to create our cute and functional space.

Now that all my Christmas decor is finally down 🤣 I have the urge to freshen things up around the house to kick off the New Year! I started with the base layer of our bedding, the sheets. These sheets from @cariloha are so unbelievably soft and smooth! Just like my favorite towels, these are also made out of the viscose from bamboo. If you’re looking to freshen up your home too or just want new sheets (or towels) I have a 20% off code for you: AMBERP20. #cariloha #sponsored
