One of the things I love most about entertaining is the designing and planning that goes into it. Whether it’s as simple as a nice cheese board and some wine or a full on themed party; I adore the details. Hosting can be pricy though, especially if you’re hosting a Thanksgiving gathering. That’s why I wanted to find a quick, inexpensive, yet pretty way to create a centerpiece or two for the Thanksgiving table.
The How-To for Thanksgiving Centerpieces
Here’s what I did….I went to my local Safeway because they actually have a rather large floral section and their prices are pretty reasonable. I picked out one harvest bouquet for $11.99 and then grabbed two different sizes and colors of carnations. I know, I know…..most people hate carnations but I actually really like them. The best part is that you can get a bundle for as little as $3. These particular bundles were $4.99 which brought my grand total to just under $25.
Using vases that I already had helped keep the total cost down. I split the harvest bouquet into thirds so that I had plenty for each vase that I wanted to fill. I then arranged the flowers in their vases and filled in with the various carnations. Carnations really are a great filler. Arranging these only took me about 15 minutes making them not only a great expense saver but a time saver as well.
